What are Coronado's main neighborhoods?
The Village, Coronado Shores, Coronado Cays and Country Club Estates. Each has a distinct character, and most buyers narrow the choice after seeing two or three of them in person.
Which part of Coronado is the most walkable?
The Village. It is centered on Orange Avenue's shops and restaurants and Spreckels Park, with tree-lined streets that suit walking.
Where can I live directly on the beach?
Coronado Shores is a set of ten oceanfront towers on 32 beachfront acres just south of the Hotel del Coronado. Residents have direct access to the sand.
Where do people keep boats?
The Cays. This community of eleven villages is built around private inlets and peninsulas, and many homes have their own docks and slips. Ask what conveys with a particular property.
Where is Country Club Estates?
On the island's northwest end, next to Naval Air Station North Island. It is a quiet, roughly one-square-mile neighborhood built largely on the grounds of the original country club and polo fields.
What kinds of homes are in the Village?
A mix of historic cottages and bungalows, mid-century homes and newer construction, on smaller lots close to the street.
Which parks should I visit first?
Spreckels Park in the Village, Tidelands Park for bay and bridge views, and Centennial Park near the Ferry Landing. Each shows a different side of island life.
How far is the Cays from the Village?
About four miles south. It is a short drive, but the two areas feel very different.
Do neighborhoods differ on condo versus house ownership?
Yes. Coronado Shores is condominiums. The Village and Country Club Estates are mostly single-family homes, and the Cays mix single-family homes with townhomes and condos.
